COFFEE IN GUATEMALA

Posted by coffee

Guatemala

What can I say? This country where the 90 percent of its population still live bellow the poverty line produce one of the best coffee in the world. Judging from my experienced, the coffee taste almost like the Kalosi Toraja's coffee. Even this country originated as an Indian land, few thousand farms (fincas) mostly owned by non-Indian (ladinos) wealthy estates (haciendas). And of course, the farm worked by poor Indians, mostly in the highlands.

Unlike the Costa Rican coffee, the Guatemalan vary more from region to region. The general flavor profile of medium to full bodied liquor, perfectly balanced with good acidity and complex smoky, spicy and chocolate tones. The Guatemala Antigua is the famous coffee in the world, even Starbucks have one of those. If you are often to visit your Starbucks store I'm sure you know what Guatemala Antiqua taste like. Have another cup?
